Andrew Stewart MRSS DipBSSShiatsu Practitioner
Andrew's early career was as an engineer working in the water industry, followed by a spell owning and running a delicatessen and tea room in Chelmsford. This, however became too much of a burden when his first child was born with cerebral palsy, and he and his wife sold the business in 1998. As part of his condition, their son's muscles became progressively more spastic and Andrew and his wife tried a wide variety of therapies in an effort to reduce this painful stiffness. Shiatsu was the only therapy that had a marked effect, and Andrew attended a weekend workshop to ‘learn a few useful techniques'. He was completely taken with the concepts, philosophies and practice of Shiatsu and went on to complete the three year course. More recently, Andrew has become a member of the Dedham Vale Network of complementary practitioners, and The Suffolk and North Essex Shiatsu Association (SANESA). He has also taken on some work for the Shiatsu Society, becoming a member of the Communications Committee in 2006. Andrew is always willing to talk to interested groups or societies who may like to know more about shiatsu. |
